Pyrolysis Technology

In the present day there are few companies that have the ability to produce, sell, assemble, and especially commission pyrolysis plants. If one does basic internet research he or she will find countless companies worldwide – from China to the United States and everywhere in between – which claim that they have the capacity and resources to build, operate, and fully utilize pyrolysis technology. In reality, as one digs deeper he or she realizes that in Asia the numbers do not add up relative to superficial internet profitability reports or that companies have built a new, improved technology one month later because older versions did not work well, etc… In the Western world, the situation greatly differs. Companies wish to charge potential customers visiting their pilot plants for testing purposes or claim they cannot show their commercial facility due to insurance policies. Pyrolysis plants are neither inexpensive nor simple. They require an immense know-how to operate. This is why our company carried out extensive global research, testing, and consulting for more than three years prior to investing in this commercial recycling facility, which requires no subsidies to operate.

Products

Pyrolysis of end of life tires produces 4 different products. Except for pyrolytic gas, the other three products are for sale: carbon black, scrap metal, and pyrolytic oil. Palletized carbon black can be purchased from our facility and easily shipped all over the world. If you are interested please call or e-mail us for a free sample. We strive to please our customers and build long lasting, trusting relationships.

Scrap Metal

Scrap metal is extracted from shredding end of life tires. Since tires have rough operating conditions they require high quality steel. This scrap is suitable for arc and induction furnaces.

Black Carbon

An essential commodity of the rubber and tire industry is carbon black. With 8.1 million metric tons of annual production, nearly all of which is derived from crude oil that makes this chemical costly. Carbon black enhances several properties of rubber products such as tensile strength, abrasion wear, etc. It can also be used as a pigment for coloring purposes in plastics, inks, and dyes.

Pyrolytic Oil

A product of the pyrolysis reaction, pyrolytic oil is the liquid end product of cooled pyrolytic gas. Due to its high calorific value it is a valuable industrial heating fuel. It can also be blended with crude oil and used in oil refineries. Lastly it can be used for carbon black production.

Pyrolytic Gas

Gas is produced by tire pyrolysis. This part is the uncondensed component of the initial vapors. As it has high heating value it is used in the pyrolysis reactor for heating requirements.

Kartepe and the Environment

As Turkey’s first fully continuous, commercial tire pyrolysis facility, we strive to produce value added products from environmental waste. Our mission is to clean the environment by repurposing tires that would have either gone to landfills, cement plants, or rubber playgrounds.

Kartepe Endustriyel Geri Dönüşüm is proud to be part of the future green economy.
